There’s a lot of confusion around book distribution, and the terminology can be really confusing.
So much has changed in recent years and a lot of what authors think they understand about distribution has antiquated ties to what it used to mean if you published through one of the big 5 traditional publishers years ago. But that’s not how it works today!
Our goal for this episode is to go over the origin of distribution, what it used to mean, what it means today, and what your role is in making sure you get the opportunities you’re looking for!
Because, spoiler alert, there’s a lot more involved today, more leg work on your part, or on the part of someone you’re willing to hire to ensure all the details are managed and loops are closed.
