Amy Cornell
Known for her no-nonsense approach and sharp eye for detail, Amy brings equal parts strategy, curiosity, and practicality to every author campaign.
She believes successful book marketing isn’t built on shortcuts or silver bullets, but on thoughtful decisions, consistent execution, and a willingness to keep improving.
As both a campaign manager and podcast co-host, she’s become a trusted resource for authors looking for straightforward answers in a complicated industry.
Amy Cornell is a book marketing strategist, campaign manager and co-host of the AME podcast.
For more than fifteen years, Amy has worked alongside Penny Sansevieri, helping authors navigate publishing and execute marketing campaigns designed to build long-term visibility.
As Campaign Manager at Author Marketing Experts and co-host of the Book Marketing Tips & Author Success podcast, Amy oversees the day-to-day management of client campaigns, working closely with authors and the AME team to turn strategy into action.
For many clients, she’s one of the first people they speak with when exploring marketing opportunities and one of the people they’ll work with most closely throughout their campaign.
After hundreds of campaigns and countless conversations with authors, Amy has developed a practical approach to publishing: focus on what matters, execute it well, and don’t get distracted by every new trend or promise.
From One Email to Fifteen Years
Amy’s relationship with Author Marketing Experts started the same way many authors discover the company: she was looking for answers.
While working at a newspaper and helping market a children’s book series, she subscribed to Penny Sansevieri’s newsletter and reached out to thank her for the resources.
One email turned into a conversation.
That conversation eventually turned into a fifteen-year career.
Today, Amy helps oversee the strategy, communication, and execution behind client campaigns while working closely with authors to keep projects moving forward and opportunities on track.
What It’s Like to Work With Amy
Amy has never been particularly interested in telling authors what they want to hear.
She’s more interested in helping them understand what’s likely to work and making sure the right work gets done.
Whether she’s refining marketing materials, troubleshooting a challenge, or helping an author evaluate a new opportunity, her focus remains the same: helping authors make informed decisions while ensuring the details don’t get overlooked.
Internally, she’s known for constantly looking for ways to improve processes, simplify complexity, and create a better experience for both clients and the AME team.
Authors often tell her that one of the most valuable parts of working with AME is having someone who can help them understand how all the pieces fit together.
Co-Host of Book Marketing Tips & Author Success
Alongside Penny Sansevieri, Amy co-hosts the Book Marketing Tips & Author Success podcast.
Across more than six seasons, they’ve shared practical advice, industry insights, and lessons learned from working directly with authors and book marketing campaigns.
The podcast gives authors a behind-the-scenes look at the realities of publishing, while providing the same straightforward guidance Amy brings to her client work every day.
Beyond Publishing
Outside of work, Amy is typically loving on her constant rotation of foster dogs (shoutout to Wags & Walks), cheering on her daughters at their latest tournament, and finding her Zen with an ever-growing collection of houseplants on the living wall her husband built for her.
She’s also an avid reader and listener of true crime and domestic suspense, which may explain her fascination with human behavior, complicated motivations, and people who insist everything is going according to plan.
